For 30 years, the Humane Society of Waupaca County has been working to provide safe shelter for dogs, cats and other animals in and around Waupaca. From their start at the city-run dog pound to today's adoption center near the Waupaca Municipal Airport, they have continued to grow and help more pets every year. This exhibit will tell the history of the Humane Society, provide tips on adoption and caring for your pets at home and much more!

Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 am (Lower Level Meeting Room B)

For very young children with caregiver.  Share 20 minutes of stories, nursery rhymes, songs and bounces. Each session ends in a free play period. No registration necessary.

"Apron Chronicles: A Patchwork of American Recollections," a nationally touring exhibition, is America's most nostalgic, thought provoking and generational friendly traveling exhibition. Pairing powerful photography with real world stories and sentimental ties to the past in the form of vintage aprons, the exhibit tells the emotional stories of 46 individuals, each of whom have unique memories about aprons and the people who wore them.

Born and raised in Appleton, Tom Roemer served in the U.S. Army from August 1965 to August 1969, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent.  While in Basic Training, he was recruited by the White House Communications Agency.  A subsequent microwave radio electronics school prepared him to provide communications support for the U.S. Secret Service and Presidents Johnson and Nixon, and former president Eisenhower.  

This program is free, open to the public and appropriate for all ages. A light lunch will be catered by a local restaurant. Please make reservations online or by calling the front desk 715-258-4414.

Drop in to this Makerspace to create an apron out of a discarded shirt!

Things to bring:

1. Large men's shirt to make an adult apron. (You may bring a smaller shirt if you wish to make a child's size apron.) 

2. Sewing shears or very sharp scissors

3. Your imagination and sense of fun!

Sewing machines, experienced seamstresses, and irons will be provided.
