Dive into the life and works of one of the greatest writers of the 20th century as the Waupaca Area Public Library welcomes, "Kurt Vonnegut: His Life and Works." This exhibit, created by the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library in Indiana, includes displays, artifacts and two interactive iPad kiosks that give visitors a glimpse into Vonnegut's life, manuscripts, notes and drawings and the permanent collections at the Memorial Library. This national traveling exhibit runs from August 10 through September 19.

Also mark your calendars for our opening night reception on Monday, August 10. Memorial Library board member and Vonnegut friend Rodney Allen will present a program on Kurt Vonnegut, his works and his life. Refreshments will start at 6:00 p.m. with the program starting at 6:30 p.m. Visitors will then have time to tour the exhibit following the program.

Help us send a veteran on an Old Glory Honor Flight by taking the Waupaca Veteran Memorial Challenge.  Visit three community veteran memorials and complete a scavenger hunt, available at any library service desk, to participate. Return completed form to the library and $5 per family will be donated by library staff to the Old Glory Honor Flight project.  Stay tuned for news of our progress and more ways your family can honor veterans from our community.
