Get ready to enjoy Wisconsin's Free Fishing Weekend, June 4 & 5, by visiting the library and picking up some fishing gear for the kids (while supplies last).  Fish anywhere in Wisconsin without a license or trout stamp on Free Fishing Weekend.  More information is available on the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources website. Then, share your fishing fun by bringing in a photo, drawing or story about your fishing adventure.

Wisconsin's only competitive jump rope team is the Cardinal Skippers from Fond du Lac, WI.  They do shows and demonstrations, half-time shows, clinics and share their love of jumping all around the state.  They even performed a few years ago in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!  Sponsored in Waupaca by ThedaCare and the Outagamie Waupaca Library System (OWLS), these amazing athletes will put on a show at the Waupaca Recreation Center gym.  

Come to learn basic techniques and see their stunts and trickery, too.

Research shows that the brain is like a muscle. It gets stronger with practice. Scientists have been able to show just how the brain grows and gets stronger when you learn. Scientists have shown that, when people study hard and learn new ways to study, their brains change and grow.

Enjoy brain teasers, puzzles, games, coding corner, fun quizes and more brain building activities in the Brain Lab (exhibit room) this summer.  Extra challenges are planned for Wednesdays and Fridays.  New actvities added every week!

Get new tips and recipes for healthy cooking options for your family. Held in the lower level library meeting rooms and featuring guest cooks from the Waupaca Area.

June's demonstration is by the Waupaca County UW-Extension and Farm to School educators and will focus on Healthy Snacks on the Go.

Join the most awesome volunteer force in Waupaca, have a great time, and help out the Library! The Waupaca Library’s Teen Room, aka the Best Cellar, is looking for reliable teens to fill several volunteer openings. If you are between the ages of 13-18 and are looking for something to do this summer, consider spending your afternoons at the library, making a difference. Work starts June 6 – July 29.
