Special Lunch & Learn - Bat Ecology

On Tuesday, June  12, at noon, Bill Mueller of the Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory will present a Lunch & Learn Program on bat ecology and demonstrating the use of the ANABAT electronic bat monitoring unit. Weather permitting, participants will go on a “bat walk” to learn the use of the unit, and learn information on how to get involved as a volunteer.  We need to assist with learning more about the numbers and distribution of bats in Wisconsin. Learn how to use this electronic equipment to survey for bats in spring, summer, and fall. Learn more about ways you can help with the conservation of bats. No prior knowledge is required. This program is free, open to the public, and expected to last one hour. A light lunch will be served. Space is limited. Audience participation is encouraged at this fun movie event. The classic tale, “The Princess Bride”, has mystery, romance, humor, suspense and more - something for everyone. Snacks and interactive props provided! Feel free to bring your own props. Dress in princess, pirate or pajama wear. Prizes awarded for best costume.

Enjoy the unnerving tales from Michael Norman, author of Haunted Wisconsin. Gathered from personal interviews with credible eyewitnesses, on-site explorations, historical archives, newspaper reports, and other sources, these scores of reports date from Wisconsin’s early settlement days to recent inexplicable events. Michael Norman, an author, educator and playwright, lives in Northern Wisconsin. Book signing after the event!
